a yucky box of gluten-free all-purpose baking mix, you make dog biscuits!
I have tried multiple gluten-free baking mixes-some good, some bad and some, well, gross. I had two boxes of the last variety and instead of throwing them away (so wasteful), I decided to make dog biscuits out of them. The mix has millet, sorghum and brown rice flours along with a bit of xanthan gum. Nothing harmful in there for my little four-legged friends so, bake on!
Here is the recipe I used:
2 c whole wheat flour (or a distasteful baking mix)
1 tbsp baking powder
1 c milk
1 c peanut butter
I blend the peanut butter and milk together. Then, in another bowl, I combine the flour and baking powder. Combine both mixtures and roll out, cut with a cute cookie cutter (I like hearts and bones) and bake 350F for 30-45 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
The dogs seem to like them! Hurray!
